Essay Contest

Higher Education Day is a great time for students to focus on life goals and the role that education can play in reaching them. This year we’re offering an essay contest to encourage Wisconsin’s 4th, 5th and 6th graders to think about how higher education might make their lives better.

Eligibility: 4th, 5th and 6th grade Wisconsin residents
Topic: "Why I Hope to Continue My Education Beyond High School."
Length: 500 words or less, typed or handwritten on white paper.
Prizes: Grand Prize (1) -- $2,500 EdVest College Savings Account
Regional Winners (7) -- $500 EdVest College Savings Account
Deadline: Entries must be postmarked by December 21, 2009.
Winners: An independent panel of judges will review all entries.
Will be announced in January, 2010.
No tax funds will be used for prizes.
